Tired of flat characters, a dull setting, and zero zip? You’re not alone. In fact, learning how to write dynamic descriptions is something I’ve taught for years. So, I developed this free mini course to help you banish boring prose for good.

Here’s what you’ll learn

  • How to leverage your story’s details to make your writing pop
  • Why an attitude matters and how to implement one into your prose to give it dimension
  • Tricks to reveal your character’s interior state through their clothes. Yes, their scarf can tell a story (Ask Taylor)

Meet Elizabeth, our intrepid protagonist

I believe that when we see examples of a technique, it helps to solidify it. We start with our character Elizabeth, pacing the rocky shoreline in her harbor town. In each lesson, I implement the strategies into Elizabeth’s story so you can see how they work in real time. Throughout the course, I’ll continue to expand on Elizabeth’s previous paragraphs with new techniques. By the end, Elizabeth’s world will have new dimension and our descriptions will jump off the page.

Put it into Practice

After each lesson, you’ll be invited to return to your own work and implement what you’ve learned. Say goodbye to boring prose forever.
